Can you ever recover completely?

Yes, you can. The word 'recovery'is a loaded word. What exactly does it mean 'to recover'? That depends on who you ask and who is defining what it means to recover. Recover from what? Can you ever fully recover from a heart attack? Yes, you can. Can you ever fully recover from a cancer? Yes, you can. Well, you can also recover from alcohol dependency. Perhaps it is more precise to ask, "Can I overcome my alcohol dependency once and for all, and for good? Yes, you can. If you are one of those who cannot consume alcohol because your body, your genetic coding cannot not properly metabolize alcohol than you quite simply have to stay completely away from alcohol. And, yes, you can do that. Alcohol is nothing more than a substance, a chemical composition, a liquid. It is powerful and it can harm you.

Once you know alcohol is not for you you take the steps required to keep alcohol from entering you system. There are many ways to do that. To find the one for you look through this site; there are articles that directly address that question. Once you are completely free of ever wanting or needing a drink you are FULLY RECOVERED. The mistake that is made is for those who cannot tolerate alcohol to continue to dwell on that fact.

Quite simply put, if you know you can't tolerate and handle alcohol then STOP THINKING ABOUT ALCOHOL. There are many traditional recovery programs that would have you spend the rest of your life dwelling on alcohol. Forget about it. Literally. Forget about alcohol; there are so many magnificent replacements for alcohol. Don't even give it another thought.

When you no longer have an attachment to alcohol then you have RECOVERED.

Don't get stuck in recover. Get stuck in being recovered.
